Do It Again

by Alvin

Do it again Lord, do it again!

In the Hebrew text, the root word Aydooth which is translated as ‘testimony’ means to ‘repeat’, ‘return’ or ‘do again’. Fast forward hundreds of years to the book of Revelation, and we’re told ‘the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy’ (Rev 19:10). What does this all mean? It means that testimonies aren’t just encouraging stories. Every time you hear a testimony, the Lord is prophesying your own breakthrough to you. Every testimony we hear is His emphatic answer to the question life’s challenges ask us: Is He Who He Says He Is?

The new normal has changed many things for us, especially towards students who are facing online learning at home. For many people, this manifests as discomfort, anxiety and stress triggered by looking at the computer screen all day long, besides engaging with tons of assignments. This has significantly altered the lifestyles and social relationship among us when we are in prolonged isolation. Fear becomes more prevalent when we are uncertain about the future, financial support, academic year and job employability.

I would like to share my testimony with you: Recently, I experienced the goodness of God through a job opening where it seems impossible during this season. Since my graduation last year, I submitted many (more than 100) job applications and landed with few online interviews and assessments. Many applications were rejected and some didn’t even receive any news. I still remember, during Hope Tertiary Connect20, I received an affirmation telling me that God will provide me a job. I felt assured and I continued to wait upon the realization of God’s promise. After a few months of waiting, I finally received a job offer. The post offered to me is exactly what I have been dreaming of, petroleum field engineer! I’m now working on an offshore oil rig.

As you read this testimony of mine, if it is relevant to you or your loved ones’ current needs, proclaim that God can “do it again’ in your lives! Likewise, you can also share about your testimonies - the breakthrough, provision, comfort, assurance and many more which you have received from our good God. Share it with your friends, family and community and believe that He will do it again in their lives!

Application

Is there anyone whom you know of their current needs? If you have ever received the breakthrough that they are waiting for, why not give them a call or a text message, share with them your testimony and proclaim to them that God will do it again in their lives? Freely you have received, therefore freely you give!
