Sinners Who Left a Legacy

In the bible, there are people who are looked down by society because of their sinful lifestyle. But these people left a legacy when they responded extravagantly to the love and acceptance that they received:

Remember the woman that received much forgiveness from the Lord - a woman that anointed Jesus with an alabaster jar of perfume. She brought what is precious for her to Jesus as a love response and gratitude to the kindness that she received. Jesus described that her sins were forgiven as her great love has shown (Luke 7:47).

The same love response was also found in a Samaritan woman at the well who shared about Jesus to the whole town where she lived after her encounter with the Messiah (John 4:4-42). The response impacted many Samaritans from that town to believe in Jesus.

As a response to the love and acceptance he received from Jesus, Zacchaeus gave half of his possessions to the poor and payback four times to people he cheated before (John 19:1-10).

All these “bad people” left a legacy as many people have been blessed and inspired by what they did. God’s goodness has the power in leading us to repentance i.e. a changed mindset. The changed mindset will then produce a love response.
