What Would Jesus Do?
by Li Yew
Jesus did not come to the earth to condemn the world, instead, he died on the cross to reconcile us to the Father. Throughout the three years of Jesus’ ministry, He revealed who the Father is by showing love to others. All of the works he did were an invitation for the people to reconcile to the Father. We are also called to take part in the ministry of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:19-20). But what can we do when the pre-believers (e.g.: coursemates, family members, school staff, etc.) don’t seem to be lovable to us? How can we love when they reject us or cause us some troubles?

Let us learn from Jesus, never repay anyone evil for evil, and to live at peace with everyone whenever possible (Romans 12:17-18). Jesus was accused and mistreated by the people. He was sorrowful and troubled, to the point that he asked Father to take the cup away from him (Matthew 26:36-39). Yet, He chose to love by dying on the cross for us. He chose to be the way to lead people back to the Father.

Whenever we feel that it’s hard to love, let’s think of Jesus, how would Jesus respond in that situation? Have a pause and ask, “What would Jesus do? How does he see the person?”. Let’s choose to show love in tough situations. By doing so, we open a way to reconcile people to God.
Application
Come to God and ask Him to show you how He sees the people around you, especially those who are not so lovable to you. Seek to know how Jesus would respond to the person, then do your best to do as He does.
